Danger! knob and tubes

Are you still using knob and tube wiring?

What is knob and tube wiring?
Knob and tube wiring is a common wiring method in North America from 1880 to 1950. Imagine your wiring system in your house is the central nervous system of a human body. And this system is about 60 years old. This system has been through a lot and survived many bites from rats. Now the insulation is total worn out and it has become a great fire and safety threat. Most of insurance company requires the new home owner to get an ESA licensed electrician to inspect the wiring system before issuing an new insurance policy and this policy can be very costly.

So what is the best knob and tube solution?
We recommend removing the old knob and tube wiring and replacing the entire system to meet today’s electrical safety code and ESA standards. This way you will save money from lowering your home insurance. Also have a peace of mind, knowing that your home is safe from an electrical hazard.

What is the best time to replace?
As soon as possible is a good answer. Also if you are considering renovating or re-paint then it is the best time to do it!

How long does it take?
It will take anywhere from 3 days to 1 week depend on the size of your house. But during this time you will still have partial power to keep the basic function of your house. So you don’t have to worry about the house getting too cold or nowhere to cook your food!

And be sure to  check their ESA license when you are hiring someone to work with your electrical system.
